There are many benefits of sauna and the heat, including:
- Relieving sore muscles and chronic pain
- Clearing the skin
- Reducing heart pressure
- Boosting the immune system
- Helping with stress and tension
Whilst saunas suit most people, they aren’t for everyone and there are some risks for some people, including:

- Can be dangerous for people with high blood pressure, diabetes, abnormal heart rhythms and known heart conditions

Hosting a maximum of 4 people at anyone time, there is some sauna etiquette:
- Please wear a minimum of a singlet and shorts / towel around your waist in public sessions
- No bare chest, no matter your gender please
- Come into the sauna clean without any antiperspirants or strong smells that may disturb others
- Please be respectful of other people in the space and don’t spread out too much
- Please be quiet in the sauna to respect others experience
And we have some safety recommendations, especially if it’s your first sauna:
- Take a bottle of ice water into the sauna, hydrate well before and after session
- Break up the experience into sections, try just 5 min, take a 2 min break and then head back in for another 5 and repeat
- If you begin to feel dizzy, sick or dehydrated leave the sauna and let a staff member know
- Shower after the sauna before entering the studio for yoga
