In conjunction with your current interventions, having the skills and tool to help people recognise that they have a body and develop effective and practical strategies for self regulation can revolutionise their experience and outcomes with you. For 10 years I’ve been working as a researcher and educator in how to deliver best practice in trauma informed care; and have now become a practitioner delivering those healing services myself as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and trauma informed yoga teacher. I offer an introductory package of 6x 90 minute personal consultation sessions to help you bring the body and somatic interventions into your practice frame work. Workplace Wellness
Mitigate vicarious trauma and supporting psycho-social wellness in the workplace.
Workshops and retreats for workplaces, with Sarah Van Est, Ma, SEP
Ujjayi Yoga offers tailored wellness packages for workplaces to help your team mitigate vicarious trauma and restore goodness.
We all often work hard to support the health and well-being of our clients and participate in the workplace culture. It’s a well-known fact that empathic and caring people work in the mental health and community sectors, often because they want to help and give back after their own challenging experiences. Working with people impacted by trauma, violence, addiction, grief, disability, discrimination, inadequate housing and a whole myriad of social, mental, financial, racial, and emotional issues (to name just a few) is invaluable work that can have lasting and positive impacts in people’s lives. But it can also come at a cost to the worker, it can be heartbreaking, exhausting, and bring up our own challenging experiences. For workers in the sector, having the skills and strategies in place to mitigate vicarious trauma and the self-care time to restore goodness is essential.
